College Dance Glory

Got up much too early to join Pratima, one of my Nepali friends whom I live with, at her school's dance competition. They took about two hours to get ready for performance with waiting for dancers arriving late, practicing, and of course, getting dressed up in their cultural wear. While waiting for them, I went to go see the rest of the performances, where I was awarded front row seats among the standing crowd of cheering college students. They cheered for everyone: boys, girls, solo performers, groups. Pratima and her friends ended up receiving an overall second place, much deserved to their nearly 5 minute long cultural dance.

A younger girl gave a performance in intermission, she was very popular among students
