I never got a chance to teach the 10th graders of Edify, yet I was invited to their farewell ceremony which occurred after school last Thursday. Students dressed up and made several performances singing and dancing, gave speeches, and received awards for completing 10 years of school at Edify (I got to hand one of as well). It was the 9th graders who arranged the party, hosting and calling various names on stage to speak or perform, including the principal, who gave a speech recalling memories he had with the students at the time at the school. It seemed like a very intimate, yet happy goodbye with much hooting and laughter, ending with the teachers being served a meal while the students took the hall, dancing.
